Sewing Stoles

by Linda Hayes-Trent
(Andalusia, AL)

I purchased a stole pattern from this website and am unclear on how to sew the satin backing/lining onto the stole. My thoughts are to sew them together on the sewing machine (right sides together), leaving an opening where I can turn them right-side out, press and hand stitch the opening. Is this correct? Thank you in advance for your response. Regards, Linda Hayes-Trent

Unfortunately, You Must Hand Stitch the Stole
by: Lynne Green

Unfortunately, you cannot sew the stole on a machine. It will not hang properly. Instead, you will have to hand stitch in place. We show this step by step here
